These days being a student might feel a little… futile. As uncertain as things were for each of us before the pandemic, now is a time where extreme uncertainty has truly come to feel like the norm. There are many ways that we have had to adapt to go about our daily lives. We are now taking classes online or having limited face-to-face meetings. Many of us are limiting contact to people we love for their or our protection. This affects us in many ways we might not understand at first.

At this point in the pandemic you may find yourself feeling guilty about doing things that used to bring you a lot of joy. Like going out on a walk with a friend, seeing your family, or going out to eat. You may be feeling it in other ways too, a great pressure has been put on you by society to end the pandemic.

Let us all remind ourselves to be kind, to ourselves and others, during this time. Isolation is something that can have a serious toll on our mental health. If you are feeling stressed, anxious, depressed, angry, etc. you’re not alone. There are a lot of resources out there to help you with anything you may be going through right now!

There is free COVID testing available to every matriculated student (if you can access OhSNAP you can get tested). CAPS is still open and more accessible than ever, telehealth has opened up a lot for counselors and students alike. The Hardship Request Form is still in use, which is where students can request funds from the school for rent assistance, bills, food, etc. It works like a grant, you don’t have to pay it back! If you are a student that needs additional support on top of financial needs we highly encourage you to reach out and connect with CARE services.

We have attached all of the mentioned resources, forms, and some additional websites/articles for stress relief & COVID coping. We are sending you so much love!
