If you’re interested in learning how to make a tasty and easy home-cooked dish, be on the lookout for Oh SNAP’s virtual cooking classes!

We plan on having one cooking class per month! Make sure to follow us on Instagram @hsuohsnap since we post all of our cooking class updates on there. There you will find flyers and the sign-up sheet for the month’s cooking class will be found in the Linktree that is in our bio.

The first 40 students that sign up for the cooking classes will be able to receive a bag that’s filled with all of the ingredients needed to make the dish, along with a printed recipe, all for free! Students will be able to pick up their Ingredient Bags the week of the cooking class at the Oh SNAP pantry (RWC 122). The pick-up hours will be 11:00 am-1:30 pm on Mondays and 2:30- 4:30 pm on Tuesdays. Just like the pantry bags, you can pick up a bag for another student if they are not able to make it, you just need to tell us their first and last name.

If you are not in the Humboldt area, we can send you the recipe ingredients through Instacart!

If you can’t make it to the live class on Zoom, you can still pick up a bag and do the recipe on your own time! We plan on having our cooking classes on Thursdays at 6 pm and they will only last about an hour or so.

In the past, we have had community chefs walk us through how to make delicious recipes like spaghetti squash enchilada bake, Halloween peanut butter blossom cookies, avgolemono soup, pupusas,  and homemade mac n’ cheese. On October 21st, we will be learning how to make homemade gnocchi! (sign-up for this class is closed)

If you ever create one of our cooking class dishes, upload a picture of it on your InstaStories and tag us in it so that we can repost it! We always love to see people recreate the recipes!

If you are interested in sharing one of your recipes and host a cooking class as a chef, you can send anyone from our Cooking Class Team an email!
