Hello everyone!
Your health is important to us, especially during this pandemic. While this newsletter is focused on Oh SNAP services, specifically food access, we also have some Peer Health Educators on staff for the summer, and PHE is a hub for the various other aspects of health, whether it be mental, emotional, and/or sexual. Sexual and reproductive health does not stop just because there is a pandemic, and we at Oh Snap wanted to assist students in signing up for the Family Pact or ‘Teal Card’.
Family Pact is a program through the state of California allowing eligible low-income residents access to family planning and reproductive health care for free and reduced rates. People receiving Medi-Cal benefits qualify for this card, as well as people without health insurance. You can use this card at Planned Parenthood and other partnering health centers around the state to receive things like free STI and STD testing up to once a month, free pap smears, and free and reduced birth control. Make sure to check that the health center you are going to accepts the Family Pact card beforehand. Everything done with this card is kept confidential.
We will now be hosting appointments via Zoom to assist students in signing up for this card and answer any questions you may have. Appointments can be made via https://ravinhealthed.youcanbook.me
