Finals are just around the corner! As much as some of us do not want to think about that, it’s best to accept it and create a plan in order to finish the semester strong!
Here are some tips
- Get Motivated
You have come such a long way! You are almost done with your first semester of online learning in the midst of this pandemic, you just have a couple of more weeks to go!! Think about what your goals are and how you think you’ll be able to achieve them within these last couple of weeks.
- Get Organized
If you haven’t already, take a look at all of your syllabi and write down when all of your finals are, whether they are presentations, papers, online exams, etc. Take note of when online finals submissions open and close.
Organize your finals by date or by priority if they are asynchronous.
Write down everything that you need to do in order to prepare for each final! (Study, create study guides, finish presentations/papers, etc.)
If you plan on traveling make sure to double-check your finals schedule in order to make sure you don’t miss a deadline!
Email your professors if you have any questions.
- Don’t give up!
Create a schedule on how you will divide up your time to prepare for each one of your finals and stick to it. Keep on studying and putting in the effort to finish your assignments, but also give yourself some time to take breaks, eat, and sleep well. Get out of your workspace every now and then and go outside for a little bit in order to get some fresh air, sunlight, and a little break from the screen.
- Stay focused
Exercise, eating right, and getting enough sleep is essential for maintaining your health and a sharp mind for this finals season. Self care is still very important, so continue to practice whatever helps you get through your days.
Be responsible and say no to friends and family. While you may be tempted to go out, have a movie/show marathon, or anything else it is important to prioritize your finals! Set boundaries and communicate that you really have to focus on school work during this time. We only have a couple of weeks to get through and it will go by fast! You can make plans to celebrate after you’re done with all of your finals and don’t have that stress so waiting is just a better option.
- Try your best
- Celebrate/rest once it’s over!
Good luck on your finals! You got this!
